Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning Hosts 72nd Development Partners Coordination Group

September 26, 2019: The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning hosted the 72nd Development Partner Coordination Group (DPCG), a quarterly consultative meeting between Government of Rwanda officials and Development Partners.
At the meeting, Development partners (DPs) were updated on Fiscal Year 2018/19 budget execution, Rwanda’s urbanization drive – with focus on Kigali Master Plan, the way forward regarding the Development Partners Retreat recommendations and Rwanda’s Cooperation Initiative and partnerships envisaged.
The Permanent Secretary and Secretary to Treasury Caleb Rwamuganza who is also the Chair of the DPCG to DPs that the revised Aid Policy had been submitted to Cabinet and is thus under review.  “We are currently reviewing and discussing with development partners’ possible division of labor to optimally align external support to realize NST1 most effectively.” PS Rwamuganza said.
USAID Mission Director Lesley Marbury the co-chair of DPCG lauded Rwanda’s submission of its first Voluntary National Report for the SDGs which she said reflected the impressive development gains made to date.
She recognized progress made on key priorities identified in the 15th Development Partners Retreat recommendations, and that some already are or could be taken up in more detail under the relevant sector working groups.
“We are open to adding additional members such as the private sector. We should also consider to integrate disability, diversity, and inclusion into planning as it has emerged as a future priority,”.
DPCG is chaired by Permanent Secretary and Secretary to Treasury of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and co-chaired by Leslie Marbury, the USAID Mission Director and UN Resident Coordinator Mr. Fodé Ndiaye.
