The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning today hosted the Development Partner Coordination Group (DPCG), a quarterly consultative meeting between Government of Rwanda officials and development Partners.

The 69th of its kind, the DPCG consultations focused on the 2017-18 budget execution report as well as the recently approved 10-year capital market master plan.

Speaking at the meeting, the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to Treasury (PS-ST), Caleb Rwamuganza said: “Government of Rwanda believes in the importance of accountability and transparency and this meeting provides us with the opportunities to present to you the budget execution report for the last 2017-18 fiscal year”.

Speaking on behalf of the larger DP Community, the co-chair of DPCG and USAID Mission Director, Leslie Marbury appreciated the National Strategy for Transformation (NST) noting that it would make Rwanda a self-reliant country. She underscored the crucial role the human capital will play achieving the NST1 targets.

“Development partners will continue to support vision 2050 and be more involved through discussions with government on policy issues and constraints to implementation,” Ms Marbury said.

The DPCG is the highest-level coordination body responsible for overseeing the entire aid coordination system. It brings together policy makers and development partners to discuss development related issues. It is composed of Permanent Secretaries, heads of bilateral and multilateral donor agencies, as well as representatives of civil society and the private sector.

DPCG is chaired by Permanent Secretary and Secretary to Treasury of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and co-chaired by the UN Resident Coordinator as well as the USAID Mission Director on a one-year rotational basis.
